The Job: Create a fundraising trailer that inspired people to donate to film finishing funds. It worked! $27,400 was raised, over their fundraising goal. This was a complex project that needed a lot of empathy and heart to complete. Due to a job conflict Katie chose not to edit the full length documentary.

“In June of 2012, during the week of the Summer Solstice, filmmakers Bloom and McKinney invited four survivors of sexual assault on an uncommon journey. Led by two Alaska Mountaineering School guides and a certified wilderness therapist, the women trekked in the Alaska Range exploring both internal and external terrain. During the arc of a week’s hike, four women–strangers united by their shared experiences of trauma–learn safety, judgment, leadership, teamwork, and how to navigate their own personal layers of landscape. ” —https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1051612730/breathe-in-the-light

A fundraising trailer that successfully raised finishing funds for the feature documentary.
‘Katie was able to translate a poorly organized mass of audio and video material into a creative, inspiring and motivational fundraising trailer. She showed an inordinate amount of patience and perseverance in working under some very stressful circumstances and deadlines. Additionally, she demonstrated the same amount of skill when working alongside a producer as when working independently.

Katie has an eye for detail, an ear for pacing, and a finger stroke for speed…and that is just for starters. Any project would be lucky to have her on board.’’
